Nereis Ferrer is from Barcelona and she captures everything around her in her everyday life.
“During quarantine, taking self-portraits helped me disconnect from what was happening around me.
I loved changing the space and changing myself,
because day by day I felt different emotions and they were reflected through the camera.“
“With the self-portraits I express my emotions but in a spontaneous and intuitive way.
I don’t think so much about what I am going to do. I look around me and look where to put my tripod,
but the rest happens naturally and depends on how I feel.
Sometimes I try very different options, then leave it and sometimes I make it a simple shoot and that is enough.“
“These images are some of the results I have created with my talk under light pieces.“
“When I shot myself wearing the pieces, I felt security, comfort and great sensitivity.”
“It was as if the pieces were part of my body and we were one unique piece.”
“The self-portrait is something that I do in my day-to-day life.
For me photography is my language and I communicate with myself and others through it.“
